I was skeptical about them being up to his standards as he's a trained percussionist from his youth and although he has since gone into a more professional career as an adult he still knows whats-what when it comes to anything drums. And.... he LOVED them. He was surprised that Amazon carried such a professional brand. He said they were better than the set he already had. What do you get the guy who has everything? Something he already has and loves, of course!! So he has now started a small collection of bongos and likes to have jam sessions with family and friends whenever possible... and having more than one set now makes this possible. He got the natural skin heads wet, tuned them and when they dried these drums produced a really nice sound. I think these are probably the best ones if you dont want to spend a lot of dough. I checked out some youtube videos and leanrt some cool beats. They are fun to play and they make some good sound. I would recommend them for the beginner.
