This mute is very quiet when riding the cymbal and the rebound feels natural. However, the mute tends to flop up and down somewhat which is a little annoying. Also, if you crash the cymbal on the shank it's still pretty loud since the bottom part of the cymbal is exposed 2" - 3" or so.
