I really enjoy the feel this pedal offers and the wide range of settings. With the different cams you can change the speed and power very quickly and it is so easy to switch the cams. This pedal is very sturdy and built for the road, being able to take a lot of abuse and coming with a great case. The springs have a felt in them to minimize any noise and squeaking, after 3 years I have not had any unwanted sounds coming from the spring, something that drove me crazy with the pedal I had before this one. The only thing I did not like about this (or any Pearl pedal) is the stock beaters they come with. Being very large and somewhat heavy, I did use the beaters from my former pedal. The DW 9002 is a little smoother, but not enough to pay the extra Benjamin's, and the Pearl pedal is faster and built better than the Iron Cobra. You are about to upgrade, but have no real idea what an amazing pedal should be outside advertisements. Yes, there are pedals that will require you to sell body parts before making the purchase, but the Pearl Powershifter Eliminator is not one of them. Ever wonder why Tama has both the Powerglide and the Rolling glide? It is because Pearl got to an important patent first, the interchangeable cam system. With this unique system, you can change the pedals playability in seconds by inserting a cam with an different angle. Other manufacturers can only try. The Actual Power shifter feature allows the foot board to be shifted up or down, further altering the pedals feel. The chain can also be moved, as well as the clamp that connects to the tension spring.
