5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Comfortable Shoe I've Ever Worn, March 30, 2012

The MX1012 has been out for some time now. I have the MX1011 (i.e. last year's model) and would rate them a 7 (or maybe an 8) out of 10. But of course, I'd rather have a 9 or a 10. Months ago when I first saw that the 1012's were released, I almost ordered them without thinking about it, hoping for a little improvement over the already-good 1011. But I haven't liked New Balance's running shoes lately so I thought I'd wait for a review before buying. Months went by and no reviews for the 1012 could be found anywhere on the internet. I found it uncanny considering how popular New Balance is, and how this is their flagship cross-trainer. So I took a leap of faith and ordered these.

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Not just athletic shoes, but any shoe. These make me want to walk. 2.0 out of 5 stars What happened to the Forefoot Abzorb???, August 5, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I needed new Cross trainers for work as my 1011's were way overdue for replacement. Bought 2 pair of the 1012's before reading the fine print in the product description AFTER they arrived and the forefoot area of the 1012 was virtually devoid of any forefoot cushioning. This was the primary reason I've stayed with New Balance 1000 series shoes; all the way back to the 1006's many moons ago. These shoes may be made in the USA of foreign acquired materials, but if they don't have the proper padding for my 60 year old feet(that are pretty much sans fat pads under the skin), I'll likely return the other pair and find another brand that will pad my forefoot.

Upon realizing the missing cushioning, I read the product description and sure enough, NO mention of any specialized cushioning up front. That was the sole reason for me spending the extra bucks on the deluxe line of their cross trainers, but I'm afraid that I will be looking for another non-Nike brand that will take... Read more
