Of course, there was no cell phone service. As it turned dark we realized that my husband was going to have use our inflatable dingy to return our friends to the marina where they had parked and then find his way back in the dark. Our boat would be hard to find in the daytime, let alone at night, but we had to return them to their car and that was that.They left in the dingy and I waited. And waited. As I waited, I worried about what would happen to my 71-year old husband if he became lost in the cold, remote wilderness. After almost three hours I really feared that he was lost in the dark. My imagination conjured up Coast Guard Search-and-Rescue teams, Sheriff Diver teams dredging the bottom of the lake, or worse, a bear finding him as he struggled on the rocky shore.
